My Dream Bike

Recentally i have purchase a new bike " Bajaj Xcd 125 " .With shiny blue colour with Black strips in Rs.41000 from my city.

Which is with new ‘Digital Twin Spark - Swirl induction’ (DTS-Si) engine which is designed & developed in BAJAJ Auto Corporate Headquarters in Pune. The new 125cc engine with DTS-Si technology will give an amazing mileage of 109 kilometers per liter under ideal test conditions surpassing the mileage of all current 100cc motorcycles.

XCD 125 DTS-Si offers an unprecedented combination of 150cc features, 125cc performance and 100 cc mileage.

150 cc features :

Features hitherto available only in select top end 150 cc motorcycles but present in XCD 125 includes:

  • Digital Speedometer – a first in the mass segment
  • LED tail lamp – another first
  • Headlamp with twin prismatic pilot lamps
  • Zero maintenance non-contact wheel speed sensor.

Other features unique to XCD 125 are :

  • Folding number plate allowing lower front fairing for better aesthetics.
  • A special drive chain cover with a built in noise-damping feature.
  • Full DC electrical system for easy start and constant illumination
  • Unique utility box attached to saree guard

125 cc performance :

With high torque at low engine revs (10.85 Nm @ 5000 rpm) the bike has very high pick-up and eliminates frequent shifting of gears even at low speeds. This makes it ideally suited for riding in stop-and-start traffic conditions.

100 cc mileage :

At 109 kmpl, the XCD 125 DTS-Si is the most fuel efficient motorcycle in the country. This has been achieved through the Digital Twin Spark Swirl Induction technology developed by Bajaj Auto R&D.

i have been duped by bajaj like many others. bajaj xcd 125 gave highest mileage of just 50, during first year. now it has even reduced to 40 km. what is happening with it ? the engine is being stained with oil over it. i brought it to the notice of service providers like rahul bajaj, and vinayaka bajaj of hyderabad. they havent corrected it. even the front tyre is wobbling from the first day. i feel so depressed for buying a byke which doesnt give mileage, giving problems , problems with service providers.

NOW ADDING TO WOES BAJAJ HAS DECIDED TO SCRAP BAJAJ XCD ALTOGETHER AND CONCENTRATE ON PULSER ITSELF. WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO CUSTOMERS LIKE ME, WHO BOUGHT IT BASED ON THE FACE VALUE OF BAJAJ

Hi all, iam 4m Chennai,29 and weigh 71kg. Last month asked my bajaj service centre cheif mechanic's advice and took my XCD from Chennai to Tirunelveli,my home town. Now 650KM one way, so 1300KM up n down. U belive or not, this monster of a bike dint give single trouble!! All de way throughout the NH-45, bike dint moan or groan anywhere! On highway it gave 75-77kmpl- a very decent figure. It took me 13 hours with halts inbetween to reach Tirunelveli and de same way back to Chennai after 5 days halt there. Kept de speeds between 70-85 mostly. After this trip, I can convincingly say XCD 125 is a Very Good bike! Bought in aug 2007, have done 23000 km(includin Tirunelveli trip) Biggest plus point is its excellent response to throttle, stablity in high speeds over 80s and a very very comfortable riding position. In these 2 yrs i hav had problem only wid brake shoes..,changed 3 times and in Chennai city it gives 55-58kmpl. Besides these, Not once did I hav any major problem. This is a very sturdy Bike. When u ride it, it makes u love it! its a Shame Bajaj discontinued this Fantastic product.

As long as you ride xcd 125 on smoother roads, it is very nice bike. Runs like a heavy bike, so smooth. Mileage never been a problem, My xcd runs between 70-80 kmpl in local-longroute run. Smooth engine, no vibration.

But in bad season, say rain, electrical system is a bit sensitive! Breaks leather too are a bit weak. Chainset needs frequent tightening.

However these problems look meager when you ride this nice bike!

I think it is worth its money.

very true vikas. The bajaj mechanic himself told me tat XCD-125 is the best Bajaj product made in 125cc segment! Bajaj has a unique habit of discontinuing efficient products..

This is the worst bike ever.Doent even give an average of 50 even on highways.all the 150cc and 180 cc bikes of other companies are far more fuel efficient than this.Bajaj Bloody cheater.

4 years I have been driving this bike in Bangalore. Agree that the mileage has never been great, about 50 Kmpl, the brake shoes require replacement every 5000 Km and the front wheel has developed a slight wobble after riding all this time through rough roads. But I still love to drive it especially when navigating through bangalore roads in peak hours, gives me good pick-up at slow speeds beating even the 150s and 180s, is highly maneuverable due to light front loading and small size, and very comfortable ride due good suspension. Even though bajaj cheated by claiming exceptional mileage figures, this bike was the best for each buck spent. Instead of discontinuing and acknowledging their failure in some areas, they could have improved it, would have been a game changer in the lower segment.

Hi, i purchase xcd125 in Aug-2008, now its not in working condition, I have changed engine three times in three year, i suggest u dont puchase this bike.

all you people, who are complaining about bajaj xcd 125, don't know how to maintain bike and ride. if you will ride bike like a "hero" then your bike will be dead, whatever bike you buy, ok. if you maintain and ride like your child then it will give you good millage. i purchaed my xcd 125 in december-2007, still it gives millage of 80-85 kmpl. so, don't ever complain about bajajl xcd 125 bike, ok.

Hai, Iam also one of the sufferer with XCD125. Every year I have replaced with new clutch plates kit. First yera mileage 50kmpl, now its gone down to 40kmpl. Oil leakage, big sounding of band noice like, dug, dug, dug. Shaking of back wheel since purchase. No mechanic can repair it. Maximum speed limit is 55-60. So many problems. I am fed up with this XCD125.
